Detective Rollins’ career is in danger in next week’s episode of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit“. The newbie in the team apparently has a past relationship with a dangerous man, and he won’t let her go away when they meet again.

It all starts as Detective Benson and her team are investigating a home invasion which left the parents dead and their teenage daughter in critical condition. When a hate crime investigation turns into a dead end, Benson and the SVU detectives struggle to find a motive for such violence.
The clues lead to a surprising revelation about Detective Rollins, forcing Capt. Don Cragen to take her gun.
“Home Invasion” is going to air on Wednesday, February 15 at 10/9c on NBC. “Caprica” alum Esai Morales will guest star as Jimmy Vasquez.
Miranda Lambert is crossing the bridge to acting world. The Grammy-winning country singer is going to appear in an episode of NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit“. “Y’all I’m so freaking excited to be on my favorite show ever!!!” Lambert tweeted on Saturday, January 7.

The casting news was first shared by TV Guide which also said that Lambert’s role would be an actress who has been sexually assaulted by a reality TV producer. Playing her alleged assailant is Oscar nominee Michael McKean.
In the same episode, Harry Connick Jr. will also make a guest appearance but he will have a four-episode arc as Mariska Hargitay’s love interest.
Lambert’s husband, Blake Shelton, is also adding TV career in his resume. He will return as one of the judges on NBC’s singing competition “The Voice“.
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — January 6, 2012 — Three-time Grammy Award winner, two-time Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Harry Connick Jr. will have a multi-episode, guest-starring turn on the Wolf Films/NBC drama “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (Wednesdays, 10-11 p.m. ET).
Connick will guest-star as Executive ADA David Haden, a dedicated, straight-shooting prosecutor who is assigned a case with Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay). Although Benson is at first wary of Haden, they are both surprised to find they work well together. As the case develops, so does their relationship. Connick’s first episode will air January 18.
“This is a home run on so many levels,” said Hargitay. “The show is very fortunate to have Harry’s extraordinary talent, and I’m lucky because I get to work with my friend. I think Olivia couldn’t have asked for a better companion to take her through a new stage in her life and career.”
Mariska and Harry Say Hello from the Set:
A star in music, theater, film and television, Connick recently won his second Emmy for musical direction of his live concert television special, “Harry Connick Jr. in Concert on Broadway.” He currently is starring on Broadway in the musical “On a Clear Day You Can See Forever” about which USA Today said: “Harry Connick Jr. has never sung or acted more powerfully.” The musical is directed by Tony Award-winner Michael Mayer, who also is the director of NBC’s upcoming Broadway-themed drama “Smash.”
This year Connick starred in the hit film “Dolphin Tale” which debuted at #1 at the box office with Ashley Judd, Morgan Freeman and Kris Kristofferson. He also added author to his credentials with “The Happy Elf,” his beloved song and children’s Christmas stage musical turned into a keepsake children’s book with an accompanying instrumental jazz CD released by Marsalis Music. On television, Connick is best remembered as Dr. Leo Markus on NBC’s “Will and Grace.”
A proud New Orleans native, Connick and longtime friend Branford Marsalis opened the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music in The Musicians’ Village in the Ninth Ward of New Orleans last summer, in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity. From music to dance, theater to film, the goal of the Center is to harness the exceptional talents of the residents and students of the surrounding Musicians’ Village in a collective effort that will provide an invaluable resource to New Orleans.
“Law & Order: SVU” is a Wolf Films production in association with Universal Television. Dick Wolf, Warren Leight and Peter Jankowski are executive producers.
Law & Order: SVU is heating up Mariska Hargitay’s love life.
At the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour in Pasadena early Friday, NBC president Robert Greenblatt announced that actor-singer Harry Connick Jr. is joining the cast for a four-episode arc as an assistant DA and love interest for Hargitay’s Benson.
And we do mean love interest. Greenblatt introduced a first look clip that showed Connick and Hargitay locking lips in a scene from an upcoming episode.
Rooney Mara is clearing up the assumption that she bashed the storyline of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” in which she guest starred. The “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (2011)” actress said she did not mean to call her 2006 stint on the NBC series as “awful” and “stupid”.

In an interview with Allure magazine, Mara said, “It was so awful. So stupid. Me and my boyfriend – although I [didn't] look old enough to have a boyfriend – went and beat up these fat people and at the end of the show, you find out that I used to be obese and I hate fat people.” She added, “Ridiculous. Who would ever do that? Who would beat someone up because they’re fat?”
Mara now realizes that people may think she hated the experience. “That was my first job. It couldn’t have been more exciting for me. It’s an experience I hold very dear to my heart. If anything, I didn’t mean that the storyline was ridiculous; I meant that humanity is ridiculous,” Mara said.
“I know that ‘Law & Order’ make their episodes out of real things that are happening in the city, so to me, by ‘ridiculous’ I meant that humanity is ridiculous. People are awful to one another, and to me, I find it ridiculous.”
